Jury selection to begin in trial of SB mother

Jury selection in the trial for a South Bend woman accused of killing her own baby is set to begin Monday.

Nyesha crockett was in court Friday for a pretrial conference.

Crockett is accused of throwing her 11-month-old son Micahyah to the ground, kicking and hitting him in September 2014. The boy died from those injuries.

Prosecutors say Crockett later confessed to smothering her 14-month old daughter to death seven months earlier.

She's charged with murder, aggravated battery and neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
