LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A judge denied a bond reduction request for the man accused of shooting and seriously injuring a LaPorte County deputy.

Sharod Grafton Jr. appeared in court for a bond hearing Friday. According to online court records, he had asked the judge to reduce his bond, but the request was denied.

Grafton is accused of shooting LaPorte County Deputy Jon Samuelson three times inside the emergency room at Franciscan Health in Michigan City on May 22. The shooting possibly left Samuelson paralyzed from the chest down, according to investigators.

Grafton will be back in court on June 26. His trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 9.
