Wednesday’s Child: Zack needs a family
(WNDU) - When kids are surrounded by supportive family members who love them, chances are they’re going to succeed.
The same goes for foster kids in need of adoption. We’re trying to find them new families with our Wednesday’s Child segments.
Today’s story features a child who was placed in foster care when his only caregiver — his grandmother — got sick and passed away. We first featured Zack’s story nearly three years ago, but we found out he’s still waiting to be adopted. He’s 17 now and doesn’t want to age out of the foster care system.
Grant Me Hope sent us Zack’s story, which we updated last summer.
“I like being active, I like helping teams. I also used to do robotics,” Zack said. “When I grow up, I want to be a lawyer or a police officer because I like helping people in the community.”
Zack’s friends are important to him.
“We normally play video games or just hang out and talk. I mean, me and my friends are basically called the class clowns in the in the classes,” Zack said. “My friends would describe me as funny, smart and kind. “
Zack likes to get out and about. He likes to shop at thrift stores but likes to look for a new pair of shoes.
Zack is hoping to connect with a new family that will play video games with him and stay with him through thick and thin.
“I just want to find a good family for me that fits,” Zack said.
