2-time ‘Jeopardy!’ champion accused of secretly recording someone in bedroom, bathroom
CURRITUCK, N.C. (WBTV/Gray News) - A two-time “Jeopardy!” champion is accused of secretly recording someone in a bedroom and bathroom, according to authorities.
According to an arrest warrant, Philip Joseph “Joey” DeSena, 43, put cameras in those rooms. The alleged crime happened on Oct. 10, but the arrest warrant was not issued until Nov. 26.

DeSena was arrested on Dec. 1 in North Carolina after turning himself in. He was released from jail on Dec. 3 after posting a $5,000 bond.
DeSena is charged with two counts of felony secret peeping, according to court records.
DeSena won two episodes of “Jeopardy!” in November 2024, winning $44,698. He also participated in the show’s “Winter 2025 Champions Wildcard” tournament in January.
