Man pinned, killed by his own truck after he forgot to put it in park

ANDERSON, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) - A man in South Carolina was killed Thursday night by his own truck after he forgot to put it in park.
The Anderson County coroner said the man, identified as 79-year-old Steven Franklin Mathis, had arrived at his home on Blumefield Road at about 7 p.m. According to the coroner, Mathis got out of his truck but didn’t shift to park.
Mathis tried to stop the truck from rolling. However, he was pinned by the truck when it came to a stop against a tree and died.
