INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - Tickets are sold out, and there’s a good chance a lot of you are heading down to be among the 350,000 people at the Indy 500 this weekend.

It’s “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” and we’re just a couple days away — and this year’s race should be huge.

The biggest storyline coming into this year’s race is of course Josef Newgarden. He’s the back-to-back defending champion after winning in 2023 and 2024. He became the first driver in over 20 years to become a repeat champion last year.

But as always, it’s a competitive field. There’s a ton of big names lining up to race, but one person who’s looking for a breakthrough is Marcus Armstrong.

WNDU 16 Sports caught up with Armstrong during his busy training regimen this week to hear what it would mean to win this weekend.

“It would be an extraordinary, extraordinary thing to win this event,” he said. “I don’t really let myself dream of that, to be honest. You want to kind of locked in and think about how you’re going to do it and not think about it happening, you know. But I think even to finish top five in this event demands a lot of speed from the car. You’re never going to get a top five being slow. So, you really just need to be performing well when it matters.”

We all know that Indianapolis Motor Speedway fits hundreds of thousands of people, but how about if you were to put some local landmarks in the infield?

Just to give you a representation, here are all the things that could fit in the infield. You could play a round of golf, watch college and pro football, and go to college at Bethel and Notre Dame, plus some shopping. That’s not even mentioning the baseball stadiums.
