DEPARTURES

Kennedy Urlacher – Safety

The son of Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher entered the transfer portal on April 16.

According to On3.com, The 5-foot-11, 200-pound safety committed to USC on April 19.

Urlacher played 14 games in his true freshman season and recorded 12 tackles.

The sophomore from Chandler, Ariz., will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Rino Monteforte – Long Snapper

The 5-foot-7, 209-pound long snapper announced his plan to enter the portal as a graduate transfer on April 16.

He announced his commitment to California on April 22.

Monteforte appeared in all 16 games for Notre Dame in 2024.

The North Babylon, N.Y. native will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Zac Yoakam - Kicker

The 5-foot-8, 196-pound kicker from Upper Arlington, Ohio, announced his intention to enter the transfer portal on April 17.

He announced his commitment to Houston on May 1.

Yoakam filled in for starting kicker Mitch Jeter last season when he was sidelined with an injury. He converted 18 of 18 extra point attempts and 2 of 5 field goal attempts, the longest being a 42-yarder.

The Irish added another kicker, Noah Burnette from North Carolina, during the winter transfer portal window.

Yoakam will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Steve Angeli - Quarterback

According to multiple reports, Angeli entered the transfer portal on April 17.

He announced on April 23 that he had signed with Syracuse.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound redshirt junior was one of three Notre Dame quarterbacks in the running for the starting job this upcoming season. He was 8-of-11 passing for 108 yards and one touchdown in Notre Dame’s Blue-Gold Game this year, where many fans say he was outshined by redshirt freshman CJ Carr.

Angeli did not play much last season, but was thrust into action during the Orange Bowl against Penn State when starter Riley Leonard was sidelined due to concussion protocol. He led the Irish to their first points of the game in what some fans consider one of the most important drives of the season, as the Irish came back to win that game and clinch their spot in the national championship game.

The Westfield, N.J., native also started in Notre Dame’s Sun Bowl win over Oregon State in 2023, as Sam Hartman opted out to prepare for the NFL Draft. He threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns in the 40-8 win.

Angeli appeared in 20 games across his three-year Notre Dame career, throwing for 772 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception.

He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
