Notre Dame’s Liatu King selected 28th overall in WNBA Draft by Los Angeles Sparks
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Former Notre Dame women’s basketball forward Liatu King has been selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the third round of the 2025 WNBA Draft.
King is the 28th overall pick and the third pick of the third round. She is the third Fighting Irish player to be selected in this year’s draft after Sonia Citron was selected with the No. 3 overall pick and Maddy Westbeld was picked in the second round.
King became a key contributor for the Irish after transferring to Notre Dame from Pittsburgh for her final collegiate season. She averaged a double-double this past season with 11.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game (the latter of which is a new program record).
She was named to the All-ACC Second Team.
The Sparks finished last in the regular season standings last season after going 8-32.
