Brewer blown away by blast of beer when tank valve fails
SPRING PARK, Minn. (CNN) - An unlucky brewer in Minnesota is going viral after video shows him getting literally blown away by a blast of beer.
Brendan Babcock, a brewer with Back Channel Brewing Co., was checking systems on a stainless steel tank Jan. 23 when a valve malfunctioned, according to KMPH.
A high pressure burst of beer spewed all over Babcock, sending him flying backwards. He was thrown over 10 feet across the room, KPMH reports.
The incident left Babcock soaked in India pale ale but no worse for wear. He quickly went into “save the suds” mode, trying to plug the malfunctioning vat.
The brewery later shared the video on social media, appropriately naming the beer “Blow Back” and calling it an “obviously” limited release.
