Mother, daughter killed, others injured after multi-vehicle crash

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) - A mother and daughter were killed Sunday morning in a car crash that also injured multiple others.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened on I-85 near Exit 60 around 2 a.m.

Seven vehicles were involved in the crash, according to authorities.

The Spartanburg County Coroner identifies the mother and daughter who were killed as 49-year-old Heather Holman Padgett and 23-year-old Cheyenne Nicole Padgett.

Another passenger in the same vehicle, identified as Heather Padgett’s sister-in-law, was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

A few other people were also taken to the hospital with injuries from the crash.
