Thousands remained without power Friday as crews worked to clear fallen trees and restore power lines in a South Bend neighborhood near Clay High School. Multiple trees fell during overnight storms, including one that landed on a power line, another that fell toward a home and one that was rooted out of the ground.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-2 tornado moved through Bristol on Thursday night. The tornado had a max width of 100 yards and a path length of 2.22 miles. It had peak winds of 115 mph. It was on the ground for about four minutes from 10:46 p.m. to 10:50 p.m.

Gusty winds will remain a concern through Sunday afternoon as a cold front moves into the region. Severe weather is not expected locally, but a few thundershowers are possible Saturday night through Sunday morning. Temperatures will struggle to reach 70 degrees Sunday afternoon.
Community members in Elkhart are cleaning up Friday after severe winds caused damage throughout the city and resulted in widespread power outages. The storm brought everything from uprooted trees to vehicle damage and property structural damage, along with heavy downpours and lightning. Several roads were filled with debris, including tree limbs and other hazards.
Residents in four Indiana counties are being asked to report damage from June 11 storms to help state officials assess the impact and plan recovery efforts.
