Fourth graders from Concord Community Schools launched two weather balloons Friday morning at Concord High School. Students from four elementary schools participated in the launch, which put classroom lessons into practice.

Construction on an electric vehicle battery plant in St. Joseph County has been put on pause. The facility has been under construction for the past several years northwest of State Road 2 and Larrison Boulevard near New Carlisle.
A juvenile was hurt in a shooting Thursday night in Michigan City. Police said officers were called just after 9 p.m. to the 300 block of E. 7th Street on reports of a juvenile being shot.
