Minority business owners gathered in Elkhart to connect, share their stories and inspire each other on Thursday. The event marked the kickoff of an eight-month Black business networking series hosted by 100 Black Sons.
Families packed Howard Park in downtown South Bend on Thursday night for the seventh annual Say Boo To Drugs event. Hosted by the 525 Foundation, the free, family friendly gathering brought together kids, parents, local businesses, law enforcement and first responders for safe trick-or-treating and Halloween fun.

Deputies responded to a report of a bomb threat at Jars Cannabis along U.S. Route 12 in New Buffalo Township just after 7 p.m. Thursday. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office said it believes the threat to be false.
An 82-year-old man was airlifted after a crash involving a tractor and semi at around 3 p.m. on Thursday in Elkhart County. The crash happened two miles north of the Syracuse city limits.
The west side of the Jefferson Boulevard and Twyckenham Drive intersection in South Bend will be closed starting Monday, Oct. 26. NIPSCO will be doing underground gas line work during the closure.
