Another candidate has tossed his hat into the ring for South Bend mayor, but he is the first who isn't a Democrat.
South Bend native Sean Haas filed his paperwork to appear on the Republican ballot in May. Haas is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend and is a high school teacher.
He says he's running for mayor in an effort to get back to basics. He says he'll focus on infrastructure in South Bend and building the economy in the city, among other initiatives.
As of now, he's the only Republican to file for the mayor's race.
