Mishawaka firefighters train inside vacant villas

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Mishawaka firefighters got rare, real-world training inside two vacant villas at Holy Cross Village in South Bend on Thursday.

Crews spent the day running drills in the empty homes before they’re demolished as part of the community’s next expansion.

Holy Cross Village let local first responders use the buildings so they can practice in actual structures while the campus prepares for its next phase of growth.
