Saint Joseph Mishawaka Medical Center to get new $25M cancer center
Construction on the new project is set to begin in the fall
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - Saint Joseph Health System is investing $25 million to build a new cancer center at Saint Joseph Mishawaka Medical Center.
The 25,000-square-foot facility will bring oncology, hematology, radiation and expanded infusion services together in a modern and patient-centered space.
Officials say the project also deepens Saint Joseph’s partnership with Loyola Medicine and expands access to advanced cancer care close to home.
“When a patient receives a cancer diagnosis, their world is turned upside down. In our community, sometimes that care is fragmented and requires patients and their families to go to multiple locations,” said Chris Karam, president of Saint Joseph Health System. “By placing services strategically under one roof, we’re improving that convenience factor to move patients through a really difficult journey in their lives.”
Construction on the new project is set to begin in the fall.
