NEW BUFFALO, Mich. (WNDU) - City officials in New Buffalo are concerned about the high cost of fireworks this summer and beyond due to the 145% tariff placed by the Trump administration.
According to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium, City Manager Darwin Watson said the city’s firework invoice for the next four years totaled $87,000.
He also said that vendors have asked for their 2025 and 2026 invoices now.
As of right now, fireworks are still scheduled for July 3 at dusk.
