ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WNDU) - A Berrien Springs woman involved in a murder-for-hire plot back in 2020 was back in court this week for resentencing.

According to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium, 63-year-old Alana Gonzalez was convicted of hiring a Benton Harbor resident to kill her ex-husband’s girlfriend five years ago.

She got the same 10–40-year prison sentence she was originally given back in January of 2022.

This most recent ruling came after the Michigan Supreme Court decided to reconsider her case.
