South Bend Cubs set single-game attendance record at Four Winds Field
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The South Bend Cubs set a new single-game attendance record on Thursday night at Four Winds Field.
The team says 8,169 fans packed the ballpark to watch the Cubs take on the Peoria Chiefs.
South Bend Cubs Team President Joe Hart told us before they game that the University of Notre Dame would account for more than 6,000 fans themselves, as it was “Staff Appreciation Night” at Four Winds Field.
The team says the record leaves a lasting impression before the stadium renovation set to take place after the season.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t the result that fans were hoping for, as the Cubs lost this one 5-3.
