SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Former Penn High School standout and ACC Rookie of the Year Markus Burton is reportedly returning to Notre Dame for his sophomore season.

CBS Sports College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein says Burton told him he will withdraw from the NBA Draft and return to school for the 2024-25 season.

Last month, Burton entered his name into the draft while maintaining his eligibility at Notre Dame. He had until May 29 to decide whether to stay in the draft or return to school.

The move comes after Burton was not invited to the NBA Draft Combine or the NBA G League Elite Camp earlier this month.

Burton averaged 17.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game last season and set the Notre Dame freshman scoring record with 577 points.

He is expected to be one of the best guards in the ACC this upcoming season.
