19-year-old charged in South Bend shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting late last month on South Bend’s southeast side.

Anthony Branch has been charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon. He was taken into custody on Friday and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail.

Officers were called back on April 26 to the 900 block of E. Amhurst Avenue. When they arrived, they found a male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
