11-year-old boy found dead in neighbor’s pool

GENEVA, Ala. (WTVY/Gray News) - Eleven-year-old Ricky Zane Lawrence was found dead Thursday morning, according to Geneva Police Chief Pepper Mock.

The boy, who went by Zane, was found in a pool at a neighboring home.

Geneva police said he was found shortly after daylight in what appears to be an accidental drowning.

He had been missing since early Wednesday evening.

Police said Zane had autism.

The Geneva Police Department asked for prayers for Zane’s family, friends, classmates and the staff of Mulkey Elementary School, where the 11-year-old was a student.
