Miley Cyrus wins first Grammy of her 18-year career
(Gray News) – Miley Cyrus took home her first Grammy award of her career on Sunday night.
Actually, she landed two.
Cyrus has been in the industry since age 13 when she was cast as the lead in Disney’s TV series “Hannah Montana.”
Now 31 years old, winning her first Grammy was a long-awaited moment.
Cyrus’ first win of the night was for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Flowers.”
She later performed the song, and then won a second Grammy for Record of the Year for “Flowers.”
In her acceptance speech for Record of the Year, she said, “This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday.”
Cyrus’ debut solo album “Meet Miley Cyrus” came out in June 2007. Since then, she has released seven more studio albums, including the latest “Endless Summer Vacation,” which was nominated for Album of the Year.
