SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A daycare operator is facing charges after a viral video allegedly showed kids fighting inside her home.

29-year-old Tysharae Jones faces charges of battery with injury to a person under 14, neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury and contributing the delinquency of a minor.

Police said the fight happened in June 2026. The special victims unit with the prosecutor’s office has been handling the case.

Even though the fight happened at Jones’ personal home and not at her South Bend daycare, prosecutors said she still has a duty to report what happened. This is because Indiana is a universal reporting state.

Indiana state code says every adult -- not just teachers, doctors, or police -- who suspects child abuse must report it to authorities. Failure to report is against the law and could lead to charges.

We are choosing to not share the viral video due to the nature of the contents.
