Notre Dame running backs Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price make NFL Draft history
Love goes third overall to Cardinals, Price selected 32nd by Seahawks
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price made history at the 2026 NFL Draft when they were both drafted in the first round Thursday night.
Love was drafted third overall by the Arizona Cardinals while Price was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks with the 32nd and final pick of the first round.
According to our reporting partners at the South Bend Tribune, the duo is the first pairing from the same school to be the first two running backs drafted in the same year in the common era of the NFL draft, which began in 1967.
Love and Price also join rare company as just the sixth running back duo from the same team taken in the first round of the same draft since 1967. It has only happened two other times since 2000: 2008 with Arkansas running backs Darren McFadden and Felix Jones and 2005 with Auburn running backs Ronnie Brown and Carnell “Cadillac” Williams.
Love also made history by becoming Notre Dame’s highest-drafted running back in school history. Prior to Thursday night, Jerome Bettis was the highest-drafted Irish running back in modern history as the 10th overall pick in the 1993 draft.
The 2026 NFL Draft continues Friday night at 7 p.m. with the second and third rounds. Rounds four through seven will take place Saturday afternoon.
