Funeral set for 2-month-old boy police say was killed by mother’s boyfriend
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE/Gray News) - The funeral for a 2-month-old boy who police say was murdered will be held Friday.
An obituary written for Ayden Sing said he loved to smile, be held by him mother and loved his pacifier.
He leaves behind several family members.
Police have charged 22-year-old Anthony Paige in connection with the child’s death.
Officers responded to an apartment on Couch Street on Oct. 2 for a baby that reportedly was not breathing.
After investigating, officials learned the only adults in the home were Paige and the baby’s aunt. Ayden’s mother was working at the time.
Other children were also in the home.
Police said the baby was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center, but sadly died on Oct. 5.
“At the time, nothing was extremely apparent. So, we didn’t really know anything until the medical examiner in Tennessee had a chance to do an autopsy and that’s where we got our more serious information," Major Jason McKnight with the Madisonville Police Department said.
The medical examiner reported brain and optic nerve hemorrhages, blood in the infant’s ear and bruising on the back of his head.
Police said the baby died from blunt force trauma.
Paige was then arrested Monday after police said their investigation led them to believe he had killed the infant.
Ayden’s funeral is set for 2 p.m. on Friday at Elliott-Bowles Mortuary in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Visitation will start an hour before the funeral, and his burial will take place after the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
