LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) - An undetermined amount of waste milk spilled into a creek Saturday morning in Lynchburg, Virginia.
According to the Lynchburg Fire Department, crews responded to the 1300 block of Hendricks Street around 10:40 a.m. to reports of a creek being almost completely white.
Firefighters soon discovered the cause was due to a clogged drain line at the Westover Dairy plant, causing the waste milk to overflow into the storm sewer and eventually into the creek.
The drain was unclogged and the overflow was stopped.
According to firefighters, there is no public health threat.
