UPDATE: Authorities identify man found dead in Mishawaka apartment

Authorities have identified the man who was found dead in a Mishawaka apartment building on Tuesday.

Police were called to an apartment in the 300 block of Lincolnway East after the man was found.

Because the body was in a state of decomposition, the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was called in to help process the apartment and determine whether a homicide had occurred.

On Wednesday, the man was identified as 53-year-old Lynn Kulchar

An autopsy was conducted Wednesday in Fort Wayne. Based on preliminary investigation, including the autopsy, there does not appear to be any foul play involved, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.

While the official cause of death is pending toxicology results, the forensic pathologist ruled out homicide as the cause of death.
