Family seeks justice after beloved DJ killed in Elkhart

"I dropped him off at work," Tori Taylor, girlfriend of John Mullins, said.
"I spoke to him Saturday," said Mullins' brother Paul Mullins.
"He called me Friday," added his sister Lisa Hassett.
They've just about gone through every emotion…
"Every day seems to be a different one - starting out with shock, of course grief," Taylor said.
And now – a new one.
"Anger, mostly anger right now," Paul said.
The family of John Mullins has a deep void in it.
His brother, sister and girlfriend are now forced to speak for the father of two.
"My brother was 50. That's way too young to be taken away, no matter what the circumstances are," Paul said.
Elkhart police found John's body Monday in the woods near the Walnut Trail Apartment Complex. Authorities say he died from a gunshot wound. No suspects are in custody.
Before his death – the family says their times together were usually filled with laughter.
"Funny. Very funny. And kind. He was actually a very kind person, very witty, smart person," Lisa said.
And he loved music too, especially the 80s – say his friends.
John was a karaoke DJ at My Dad's Place off State Road 19.
"His voice was a mix between Brett Michaels and Joe Elliot," said his friend Adam Cates.
"There were no strangers in his world. The minute you came into the bar, he saw me – 'my sister's here!' And everyone would know," Lisa said.
Friends say they last saw John Saturday night into early Sunday morning – leaving the bar with someone they didn't know.
Police say they are interviewing people and got a search warrant for a red car near the crime scene.
Ultimately, John's loved ones just want justice.
"I'm angry that someone, someone, somebodies didn't appreciate him like everybody else did," Tori said.
The family set up a

"My Dad's Place" is also hosting a fundraiser on Sunday at 6 p.m.
All money will go toward the funeral and to John's son and daughter.
