Constituents call on Rep. Walorski to attend town hall meeting

Constituents of Indiana's 2nd congressional district continue to ask... 'Where's Walorski?'

Wednesday afternoon, Northern Indiana's Community Coalition for Healthcare protested outside Congresswoman Jackie Walorski's Mishawaka office.

There they presented a letter inviting her to a town hall meeting next month to discuss the repeal of Obamacare.

"When they realized that the Affordable Care Act was on the chopping block; that she was intending to repeal it, and we said that's a very serious issue, deserves wide community discussion and that the public should be invited," said Tony Flora, president, North Central Indiana AFL-CIO.

The invitation comes after several attempts to get a definitive answer from the state representative.

"Congresswoman Walorski has not held public meetings since she has been in office. She held one in 2013, and since then she has not held a meeting in which the public can ask her questions about policies," said Flora.

Flora says the moderated town hall will go on with or without Walorski.

It will be held on April 9 at Century Center from 3 to 5 p.m. and anyone is welcome to attend.
