A couple dozen protestors were out on the streets of Mishawaka on Thursday morning, calling for Indiana Representative Jackie Walorski to host a town hall for the public to air their concerns.

The group protested outside the Mishawaka Public Library and across the street from Walorski's offices as she held a tax-help session inside the library.

They say Walorski hasn't held a meeting with the public in years and that she needs to address today's issues, including health care and immigration, with her constituents.

"I think all of us in our lifetimes have come in contact with family members, friends, who are Muslim, members of the LGBTQ community, senior citizens, people who are now alive because of the ACA, and we are just very, very concerned," explained Kathy Liggett.

"Once she's elected, she represents the entire district, not just the voters that voted for her last election," Steve Francis said. "It's her responsibility as our representative to meet with us, to talk to us, to listen to our concerns, and she's refusing to do that."

While many of the town hall meetings held by Republican representatives across the country have been rowdy and boisterous, the people out Thursday said they would be polite and cordial to Walorski despite their differences in opinion.
