Police investigate unsuccessful armed robbery of fireworks store

Police are trying to find the man responsible for the unsuccessful armed robbery of a LaPorte County fireworks store.

It happened right around 6 p.m. Wednesday at Rocket Fireworks, which is located at 10128 West Kieffer Road (CR 400 North).

Police say a man entered the business and demanded money while brandishing a firearm.

"The suspect left the business a short time later after an unsuccessful attempt of acquiring money," the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office said in a media release.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s, around 5'10" tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
