Suspect arrested for deadly stabbing at Mishawaka plant
The suspect in Tuesday's deadly stabbing at a Mishawaka plant has been arrested.
Tommy Love, 34, was taken into custody Tuesday evening and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on a count of voluntary manslaughter. Earlier booking information said Love was 24 years old, but police have since corrected that information.
On Tuesday morning, 37-year-old Aaron Woods Jr. was stabbed to death at Patrick Metals. Police say Love and Woods were co-workers.
Several area schools were placed on external lockdown as police searched for the suspect. Students were safe, according to a text message sent to parents.
Patrick Metals, which is located at 5020 Lincolnway East, was shut down for the day. Metro Homicide interviewed witnesses after the building was evacuated.
According to the company's website, they specialize in aluminum extrusion.
