Leaders at the Krasl Art Center in St. Joe have their eye on a giant metal sculpture. To pay for it, they threw a gala.

The sculpture is going to be built by Richard Hunt, and for those of you not part of the art loop, he's a nationally famous sculptor. They don't know much about the sculpture except that the theme will be "wave, water and wind," It will be big, metal, and costs $1.7 million to build the sculpture and change up the grounds around it.

A project that big needs some pretty big donations, which is why the Krasl Art Center decided to put on this big art party. The pre-party was inside the Krasl Center and had gourmet food and drinks throughout the gallery, but then the party moved outside where there was music and eventually a silent disco. They wanted to make sure the party was memorable for all 250 guests attending.

"We are the Krasl Art Center and we do things differently," Director of Marketing and Events Breeze Ettl said. "And we would like to be a little avant garde and cutting edge and so this is why we're doing it."
