Crews battle hotel fire in Elkhart Saturday Morning

A fiery start to the holiday weekend as crews battled a hotel fire Saturday morning in Elkhart.
It happened around 3 a.m. at the Quality Inn and Suites Hotel located in the 3300 block of Plaza Court. A person working in the hotel called 911.
The fire started on the first floor and then traveled to the second. Fire crews had to cut a hole through the roof to put out the flames.
Within 20 minutes, the fire was cleared and no one was hurt.
Crews also say the building is being remodeled.
