Bells are ringing across the campus at Holy Cross Saturday as they welcome the college's new president. The college was founded in 1966, and up until this point, it has never been led by a layperson or a non-priest or brother of the Catholic church.
Mitchell Taebel, 36, of Long Beach is charged with felony charges of stalking and intimidation, along with misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy and harassment.
There's no search underway, as the university announced that NBC Sports chairman and Irish alumnus Peter Bevacqua will step into the role when Swarbrick steps out.
