A teen charged in connection with the death of a South Bend two-year-old was in court Thursday morning.

15-year-old Tyre Bradbury is accused of aiding in murder and gang enhancement.

Thursday, his attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the case and the court has until the middle of January to decide.

Until then, Bradbury's trial is scheduled to begin on March 23.

A second teen, 17-year-old Daniel Williams, was also in court Thursday morning for a hearing and pre-trial conference.

Williams told police he hid one of the guns used in the shooting of 2-year-old John Swoveland Jr.

Williams is charged with assisting a criminal, carrying a handgun without a license, and criminal gang enhancement.

His trial is scheduled for Jan. 20.

Swoveland Jr. was killed by a stray bullet on April 9 while playing outside at his aunt's house on Campeau Street.

The shooting was related to gang violence.

The bullet came from three blocks away, near Coquillard Park.

Eight people, including Bradbury and Williams, were charged in connection with the crime.
