Two teens convicted of felony murder for a drug robbery were sentenced Thursday afternoon.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, 18-year-old Freddie Rhodes was sentenced to 58 years and 17-year-old Deante Dalton was sentenced to 55 years in prison.

Rhodes and Dalton were charged with felony murder in connection with the September 2014 shooting death of 18-year-old Dre Tarrious Rodgers.

According to court documents, Dalton and Rhodes, along with their friend Dre Tarrious Rodgers, entered a home on Falcon Court to steal drugs and money. When things went wrong, Dalton and Rhodes ran away. Rodgers was found dead in the basement.

The jury deliberated for less than two hours.

Attorneys for the pair say they will be appealing the case.
