An Elkhart man was arrested on Tuesday morning after a SWAT team executed a search warrant.

According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, 39-year-old Anthony Scott Hickman was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of meth, hypodermic needles and possession of a handgun without a permit by a serious violent felon.

The arrest was made by the special response team in the 54,000 block of County Road 3, which is across the street from Elkhart Memorial High School and Woodland Elementary.

Court documents from 2006 show a felony drug dealing conviction that says Hickman had two prior felony convictions and seven previous misdemeanor convictions.

Hickman was booked at the Elkhart County Jail without bond.
