Men accused of crashing stolen car into Niles utility pole

Three men driving in a stolen car crashed into a utility pole in Niles, causing a power outage.

Deputies responded to the crash in the 2100 block of Third Street early Tuesday morning.

A witness told the deputies three men ran from the accident, leaving a van that had been reported stolen in Elkhart

Deputies tracked their footprints to the 2100 block of S. 11th, where they arrested Shane Jacobs and Isaiah Moutria, both from Elkhart, as well as Jesse Roberson, of Albion.

All three men face charges of receiving and concealing stolen property.

Roberson also faces a charge of possession of marijuana.

It's possible the trio could face theft charges in Elkhart as well.
