SOUTH BEND, Ind. Some Michiana college students and faculty may have to find a new place to watch their kids.
The in-house day care will be outsourced at Indiana University South Bend by summer.
In the past, the child development center received around $50,000 a year from the student activities budget.
Notes from a student government meeting in September indicate the school's desire to remove child care services from the budget.
The university's chancellor said he wanted the school of education and federal grants to cover the costs.
Several students at IUSB are concerned that outsourcing the program would diminish the quality of care their kids receive.
Adding to that, IUSB caters to nontraditional students, and the flexible, school-run daycare makes furthering their educations possible.
