'I Heart SB' sign moves to its permanent home at Key Bank Plaza

SOUTH BEND, Ind. The 'I Heart SB' sign that was on display at the SB150 celebration has been moved to its permanent home in Key Bank Plaza.

It took about an hour to install the nearly 600 pound piece of art.

The sign is built with high end, long lasting materials so that it holds up for many years to come.

Ryan Kring, the sales manager at Burkhart Sign Systems, said, “Originally, we were just going to do a big banner on their building, but they thought outside the box. We came up with the concept of the sculpture, which is basically a piece of street art that we designed, built, and installed. We like it because it will last not only for that weekend, but for the next 150 years and it’s a creative piece that enhances the downtown corridor.”

You may be seeing more of these signs popping up in strategic locations around the South Bend area in the future.

They want 'I Heart SB' to be a recognizable brand and the signs will each have changeable hashtags on them for various events going on in the city.
