GOSHEN, Ind. -- Groups of freshmen from Goshen College spent the day doing service at sites across Elkhart County on Wednesday.
It's all part of the school's 16th annual Service Day.
Projects ranged from helping feed the hungry, to lending a hand at construction sites.
A handful of students worked at a Habitat for Humanity build.
Others worked at Soup of Success, and at the Boys and Girls Club to help clean.
As they hammered away, students learned about volunteer opportunities globally and locally.
“These younger people that are coming out now, they're going to talk about us on the street and that's what we want to really get habitat out there,” Duffy Sherman, construction site manager, Habitat for Humanity, said.
Goshen College's Day of Service spanned nine sites throughout the area.
