SOUTH BEND, Ind. It was a day of celebration as five people graduated from a five month recovery program at Hope Ministries in South Bend.

Residents at Hope are required to take five months of classes including addiction recovery and other programs that help them deal with issues that led them to Hope.

After tackling those, they go through a job readiness class in order to graduate.

Theodore Ramsey was one of the five graduates.

Ramsey said he and his family were homeless for some time.

He tried going to a couple other places before landing at hope.

He said it was his family that helped him make it through the program.

Ramsey said, "I have 6 kids here with me and to be honest, it is the thought of me being a father and having to be in this situation with my kids. I look at my kids every day and know they deserve better and I have to give it to them. Through this, going through this is making me a better person, stronger person and more direction in life."

Ramsey and the other graduates are now searching for jobs.

He says he will do anything to get started.

If you or someone you know would benefit from the programs at Hope, all you have to do is walk through the door.

They are located at 432 South Lafayette Boulevard in South Bend.
