Beginning January 4, Elkhart will begin their curbside pick-up of Christmas trees.
Trees will be picked up on regular trash collection days through January 15.
The city will also have four locations for Christmas tree drop-off. The four locations will be:
- The West Side Middle School parking lot on Nappanee Street
- The North Side Middle School parking lot near the track on Bristol Street
- The Riverview softball diamond parking lot on Riverview Avenue behind the school
- The Pierre Moran Pool parking lot located behind Pierre Moran School on Lusher Avenue
Residents are asked to remove all ornaments, stands, lights, wrappings, and foreign objects from the trees. Barrels will be available at each location for disposing of any debris.

South Bend tree recycling
Trees can be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week at Rum Village Park, Pinhook Park or Veterans Memorial Park.
Be sure to remove all decorations first.
Automatic tree pick-up begins on January 4. The street department will pick up trees placed curbside.
The deadline for both drop-off and curbside pick-up is January 15.
