Crime Watch: Brigid Marshall homicide

South Bend, Ind. On May 23, 1991, 20-year old Brigid Marshall was sleeping in her family home on Clayton Street in South Bend. At about 11:00 a.m. her mother left to run errands and returned about an hour later. She became concerned about Brigid sleeping so late, and when she went upstairs to check on her, she discovered Brigid had been murdered.

Police believe the initial motive was burglary. It appears the suspect forced entry through the screened porch then entered the home through the patio slider. The suspect took some pieces of costume jewelry, and several military medals belonging to Brigid’s father. Click on "view gallery" above to see the photo of those medals. Police hope someone will recognize them.
