Tuesday companies large and small received recognition for their contribution to the Michiana area.

It's the annual "Salute to Business" luncheon sponsored by the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce. More than 700 people were in attendance for the luncheon.

It's a chance to recognize all types of businesses for their success and hard work in the area.

Notre Dame Athletic Director, Jack Swarbrick, served as the keynote speaker.

“We were humbled because this award is one of collaboration in making this happen,” says Rich Carlton, President and COO of Data Realty. “We are the first business to be located in Ignition Park and the old Studebaker. We think it makes a great statement about where our community can be headed and transforming our economy.”

Data Realty and Sprenger Health Care of Mishawaka both received economic impact awards.

Tim Leman received the outstanding young business leader award.

Other award winners include Diane Stover from Memorial Hospital for the Athena Award.

Small business of the year was given to Foegley Landscaping.

Pete and Wilma Veldman were awarded the W.Scott Miller Distinguished Business Leader Award.
