ELKHART, Ind. A drunk driver is responsible for a head-on collision that sent two people to the hospital.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. Friday on S.R. 120 near Bristol.

A Chevy Malibu traveling westbound on the road swerved left, crossed the center line, and crashed into a GMC Yukon going east.

The Yukon was driven by 68-year-old Charles Howell from Kendallville, Ind. Both drivers were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they plan to arrest the driver of the Malibu, after he is released from the hospital for driving while intoxicated. His name is being withheld pending those charges.
