2 young women injured in South Bend shooting

South Bend, Ind. Two young women were taken to the hospital after a shooting in South Bend. It happened around 12:45 a.m. on the 1000 block of West Van Buren Street.

Police say both of the victims were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital as of 6 a.m.

South Bend Police responded to the scene. When they got there, they found four female juveniles in a car. Two of the girls inside the car were shot.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Police says there was a male driver in the victim’s car that fled the scene and they are looking to speak to him.

Police say they do not a have suspect in custody at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
