Top-ranked Irish say there's still plenty to work on

Notre Dame is two-thirds of the way through their schedule. The defending champs are 18-1, and once again, the top-ranked team in the country.

Despite all the success they've had, the Irish said there is still plenty of work to be done.

"I think we have to get better communicating on defense, just talking to each other, helping out a little more, and I think we can take better shots on offense too," Irish senior guard Marina Mabrey said.

"I think we have a lot of things to improve on, but I think for us, just being locked in every game," senior forward Jessica Shepard added. "I think we'll have great spurts, we'll have possessions here and there where we're looking really good, and then we'll have a little downfall. So for us, just kind of getting rid of those in the second half of the season."

#1 Notre Dame plays Tennessee Thursday night at 7pm on ESPN.
